This past December, our schools participated in the Hour of Code, an opportunity for students to spend at least one hour on focusing on computer science.
One of the most important missions we have as a district is to create safe and welcoming learning environments where all students, including transgender and gender-nonconforming students, are respected and can flourish.

Mayor Martin J. Walsh and Boston Public Schools (BPS) Superintendent Tommy Chang today announced the promotion of Dr. Makeeba McCreary to the role of managing director and senior advisor of external affairs for BPS. In her new capacity, Dr. McCreary will focus on expanding BPS' public/private partnerships and philanthropic community relations, and oversee special projects and corporate relations. Dr. McCreary previously served as Chief of Staff for BPS Superintendent Tommy Chang.
